Borinquen Medical Centers began in 1972 as a grass-roots community effort from a group of community organizers in the Puerto Rican community with a small grant from the Public Health Service to establish a health clinic in Wynwood. Over the years Borinquen Medical Centers have grown to become a Comprehensive Primary Health Care, Dental and Behavioral Health Center serving Miami-Dade County.

No, services at the Borinquen Medical Centers are not free. Patients pay for services according to their income and household size by applying for our sliding fee schedule. Your ability to pay should not stop you from receiving the health care you need. You might be eligible to set up a payment plan or we can arrange for you to pay for services on a sliding fee scale.
