MathMove began in 2009 at Birmingham-Southern College when Leslie Ann Kilpatrick (founder) received Interdisciplinary Honor for her research on "The Physics of Ballet". Her interest in alternative ways to teach math curriculum continued the following year while completing her senior thesis on Game Theory and Modulare Arithmatic.
