Offset Printing is a common printing technique where an image is transferred (offset) from a plate to a rubber blanket, then onto the printing surface. The development of the offset press came in two stages: first in 1875 Robert Barclay (UK) began printing on tin and then in 1904, Ira Washington Rubel (US) began printing on paper.

Offset printing, also called lithography, is a high quality way to produce larger quantities. It uses a large printing press with a series of printing plates that transfer cyan, magenta, yellow, and black (CMYK) ink onto large sheets of paper called "parent sheets". These parent sheets are then cut, folded, and bound to form a final printed product.
