Welcome future black belts to the Thousand Oaks/ Westlake karate studio website. Here you will find every piece of information you will need to know about joining our family. Located right off Thousand Oaks Blvd, in the heart of Thousand Oaks, is one of the oldest karate schools in the Conejo Valley, run by Chuck Norris's 67th Black Belt Great Grand Master Dennis Ichikawa.

Offering classes for 2-4 year old juniors, Adults and teens, Jujitsu grappling, women's self defense and fitness programs, and even a safe and fit seniors program. T.O. Westlake Karate Studio: Helping to build strong character through martial arts! We are thrilled with our son's experience here. He participated in their mighty mites program and has now moved on onto their regular program.

We specialize in family training. From pre-schoolers 3-5 years old, children 5-10 years old, teens and adults. We also offer women's self defense, grappling and self defense for seniors. A great family oriented school, full of a wonderful sense of comradery, a place to learn, grow, and flourish. We build strong character through martial arts training.

Founder and chief instructor Dennis Ichikawa has been training in the martial arts for over 40 years. He started at the Chuck Norris martial arts studio in 1970 and was promoted to the rank of black belt in 1973. Dennis then opened up his first martial arts school (Tarzana Karate) in 1974, fast forward 42 years later he now has over 900 Black Belts, was promoted to the rank of 9th Degree Black Belt by Pat Johnson and owns and operates T.O.
Programs

Based from the orgin style of Korean Tang Soo Do, American Tang Soo Do is a mixture of Korean kicking as well as Japanese hand techniques. Brought from Korea to America, Chuck Norris learned the art in the army along will Pat Johnson. American Tang Soo Do consists of Korean forms, American and Japanese self defense technique, as well as Japanese grappling.
