Glaucoma
Report
Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of blindness for people over the age of 60. However, it can occur at an earlier age, but most commonly appears in older adults. Glaucoma is a group of diseases that affects the Optic Nerve that is vital for your field of vision. Damage is often due to increased pressures in your eye that typically do not have any warning signs.
Cataracts
Report
Cataracts occur within the crystalline lens located inside your eye. The lens is the part of the eye responsible for focusing incoming light rays onto the retina to create a clear image. With increasing age, the clear lens in our eye starts to become cloudy. As cataracts progress, you may notice your vision becoming more blurry, objects appear dimmer or discolored, and you may have a harder time seeing at night or in low lighting.
In Office Minor Surgical Procedures
Report
It is not uncommon for patients to notice lesions (bumps or growths) on their eyelids or near their eyes. In most cases these bumps are benign (skin tags or cysts) but some can be malignant or even cancerous. Any lesion that has changed in size, shape, or color over time is considered suspicious. If you or your doctor observe any of these changes, or if the lesion is irritating to you, it can be removed.
Flashes And Floaters
Report
Many people will experience floaters in their vision at some time. In most cases, this is a normal change that occurs inside the eye. It is referred to as a posterior vitreous detachment (PVD). The vitreous is a gel-like substance inside the eye. It is connected to the retina in the back of the eye, but over time the vitreous shrinks and detaches from the retina.
