Dr Ijeoma Ijeaku is a Nigerian-American lady born in San Francisco and raised in Nigeria. This unique experience has exposed her to the lot of underserved people and created a hunger in her to help alleviate the suffering. She has been involved in organized psychiatry since the beginning of her residency training in 2009.

It is a call for social justice in psychiatry, equity for the disenfranchised, a look at our collective history, and an attempt to move our organization in the direction of enlightened and culturally sensitive practice and professionalism. The resolution focuses on actions that SCPS can take that affect psychiatric practice, our patients and the vulnerable populations we serve.
Government Affairs Committee

The GAC is tasked with developing policy and advocacy recommendations for the SCPS Council to consider and potentially adopt. These relate to positions on government initiatives, legislative bills, and regulations. To forward this activity, the committee tracks and monitors government actions, helps manage our Society's partnerships with key stakeholders and ensure that we are engaged in critical forums for public policy discussions.
