1890: Atop Birch Mountain, on the borders of Bolton, Manchester, and Glastonbury the Villa Louisa Estate started its tradition of serving fine food in an atmosphere of leisure. Edgardo and Louisa Marchesini from New York City, bought 120 acres of woods, farmland and the house they turned into an Inn.
