After 18 years as an educator (and 10.5 years as mom to my Twinkles), I've learned that kids need a little time, a little patience, and a little room to run. And, those grownups? They just need a reminder that it's okay to play. Rebecca mentioned that her family's session with me "was the first time in a really long time [she] actually played with [her] kids without worrying about a to-do list."

Gina was fabulous to work with. She was flexible about scheduling our time together, which was so helpful as a first-time mom only one month postpartum! The session was relaxed and friendly and put us all at ease. She was calm in the face of sleep-deprived new parents, a crying baby, and two overeager pups!.

As a photographer, it's easy to focus solely on photographing my clients and my family. But, almost two years ago, a mentor reminded me of the importance of photographing something just for me. She reminded me that I need to be able to give voice to my own creativity and make time to see it through.
