Diagnostics & Assessments
Report
The assessment process is important in identifying an individual's strengths and weaknesses, diagnosis and evaluation of progress and change. Each individual has a range of competencies that can be evaluated by both quantitative and qualitative means. We use multiple data sources including formal and informal measures that are appropriate for determining dyslexia and related disorders.
Dyslexia
Report
Dyslexia is not a disease. Dyslexia describes a different kind of mind --often gifted and productive -- that learns differently. Dyslexics are not lacking in intelligence. In fact, many dyslexics have above-average intelligence. The problem is, also, not one of vision; dyslexics do not "see backward."
Reading Readiness
Report
The critical window for language learning comes before reading acquisition. Recent research indicates that early recognition and remediation for children at risk is the key to long-term educational success. We must insure that all children enter school ready to read. By starting early, we recognize learning to read begins long before a child enters school.
