Central Florida Health Care was founded in 1972 in response to critical gaps in health care identified by the agricultural community. A local citrus processing firm recognized the importance of adequate health care, social services and childcare for farmworkers in Frostproof, Florida. The first clinic opened with a doctor and a nurse and began serving the farm workers in that community.
Over the next decade, we expanded to Wauchula (Hardee County) in 1975 and Avon Park (Highlands County) in 1980. Further growth came as sites were opened in Dundee, Lakeland, Winter Haven, Lake Wales (Dental) and Mulberry. In 2016, we opened Dundee Pediatrics, Lakeland Pediatrics, Magnolia Women and Children's clinic in Winter Haven and Lake Wales Medical and Dental clinic.
