I am a minor and I want to know if I am allowed to drive by myself after I get my driver's permit? A. A provisional permit does NOT allow you to drive alone - not even to the DMV office to take a driving test. A. If you are a minor, your permit is NOT VALID until you begin your driver's training with a licensed instructor who must SIGN your permit to validate it!
