About
Report
My name is Mike G, and I am the founding attorney of Mike G Law. Before I became a criminal defense attorney, I investigated, filed, and litigated thousands of cases as an Assistant State Attorney. My tenure as a prosecutor can aid your criminal defense case in the Tampa, Florida, area. I understand how the police, judges and prosecutors will view the circumstances of your charges.
Sex Crimes
Report
A conviction for a sex crime in Florida is forever. Under Florida law, if you are convicted of a sex crime, your name must be placed on the state's sex offender registry and it will likely never be removed. Even a misdemeanor offense will remain on your record for future employers and the general public to see.
Aggravated Assault & Battery
Report
Under Florida law, felony aggravated assault may be charged separately from a battery charge. Aggravated assault may be charged if the victim feels threatened of physical or emotional injury if the perpetrator acts with criminal intent or knows the actions may cause injury. Aggravated battery, on the other hand, may be charged if there is physical contact with intent to injure.
Bond Reduction & Sentencing
Report
If you have been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony offense - including accepting a plea agreement - you may have been released pending sentencing. Judges in Florida use a standard state sentencing guideline but it is important to have an experienced lawyer fighting on your behalf.

Retaining the most experienced attorney is important because the sentencing decision will often come down to the judge listening to psychologists, chemical dependency professionals, and other independent specialists to mitigate the sentence.
Burglary, Theft & Property Crimes
Report
If you or a loved one have been accused of committing a property crime in Tampa, you should know your rights and know that Mike G Law is here to help. Even non-violent property crimes can result in jail time or hefty fines-which means that keeping your freedom may rely on having an effective property crime defense attorney at your side.
