The corporate name, Norka, was created as a combination of the founders' first names. Norka obtained a contract with United Airlines to produce printed paper tray mats for all in-flight meals. If you flew on a United Airlines flight between 1986 and 1990 and were served an in-flight meal, you had a Norka produced product on your tray.
