Our History
Report
For 78 years, our funeral home has been operated on the principles of being local, independently-owned, family oriented, and taking pride in providing highly personalized, caring service for all faiths. This was the precept in place when we were founded, and it remains in place today. A very dear friend and former neighbor, Alice K. Soule, asked me (Betty) to be one of her workers for Community Chest (now The United Fund) in 1940.
Our Staff
Report
We have worked hard for three generations to serve our communities. We pledge to remain an independent, family-owned funeral home into the future. Jeffrey Hobbs has been in the funeral business for nearly 30 years and is currently owner and president of the Hobbs Funeral Homes. He is the second generation to direct the organization.
Our Locations
Report
We are here to help families in the most difficult time of their lives and their comfort in our funeral home is very important to us. The Hobbs family purchased what is still our funeral home in 1941. Our home was originally a farm house, built by Mr. Clemons. Beside being a farmer and wonderful carpenter, Mr. Clemons also had a blacksmith shop behind the barn, and we still have the huge bellows which were part of his trade.
Plan Ahead
Report
Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
Pre-Arrangements
Report
The death of a loved one or a family member is one of life's most difficult times, and it never seems to matter how much warning we have of an impending death. We don't know of any way to make it simple, or easy - yet we can help to make it a bit less painful. A caring funeral home can take much of the burden off your shoulders.
