What We Do

Since 1984, W.O. Smith Music School has introduced the world of music to thousands of deserving children in Nashville. W.O. Smith Music School makes affordable, quality music instruction available to children from low-income families. We transform lives through music. Students are provided with an instrument of their choosing, a volunteer teaching artist, and any necessary musical materials for their studies.

On behalf of Best Brands and my family, I would like to extend our most humble gratitude to you for the overwhelming support and care you have expressed in the nearly one year since Bob's passing. As you know, my father founded Best Brands with his brother-in-law Seth Eskind in 1983. You may not know, however; that Bob previously owned and operated a recording studio during his college years at Vanderbilt and was a studio pianist.
Summer Camps

W.O. Smith Music School currently offers three camps for students interested in an exciting artistic experience during the summer months. Guided by world-class staff members, students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities at each camp. Past camps have included singing, dancing, cooking, painting, and a whole lot more!
Group and Other Opportunities

The Tempo Team is a great way to volunteer opportunity for non-musicians or young musicians. Volunteers assists our staff with keeping everything on schedule. Volunteers donate an hour of their time per week M-TH 4-5 pm or 5-6 pm, or Saturday 9-10, 10-11, or 11-12 to assist our staff at the front desk.
W.O. Smith Community Orchestra

The W.O. Smith Community Orchestra (WOSCO) presents quality educational concerts for students, families, and the general public. The orchestra serves as a house ensemble for W.O. Smith volunteer teaching artists, advanced W.O. Smith students, alumni, and community members. As a performing ensemble, WOSCO is committed to presenting concerts that engage audiences in repertoire ranging from orchestral standards to newly commissioned works.
