Established in 2007, Sadkane School For Aikido has been dedicated to teaching traditional Aikido and Karate in Central Florida for over 15 years. Our dojo is the only United States Aikido Federation (USAF) certified training center in the Orlando area, with instructors ranked by Hombu Dojo in Tokyo, Japan. We emphasize O'Sensei Ueshiba's philosophy of harmony through martial arts, offering programs for ages 5 to 75. Our certified instructors bring decades of combined experience from training in Japan, New York, and Florida, with regular participation in international seminars. We maintain a floating floor system with tatami matting to ensure safe practice environments for all students.Our community includes practitioners from diverse backgrounds who share a commitment to mutual respect and personal growth through martial arts. We offer flexible class schedules for adults and children, including specialized weapons training and summer camps. As educators and mentors, we focus on developing conflict resolution skills, physical discipline, and character development in our students. Aikido Classes
Traditional Aikido instruction for ages 12+ following Hombu Dojo techniques. Classes emphasize conflict resolution through non-violent techniques while developing physical fitness and mental discipline. Our USAF-certified instructors teach both basic and advanced movements with regular testing opportunities.
Kids Martial Arts
Specialized Aikido program for children aged 5-11 focusing on character development. Curriculum builds self-discipline, mutual respect, and conflict resolution skills through age-appropriate techniques. Includes summer camps with field trips and special activities.
Uechi Ryu Karate
Traditional Okinawan Karate instruction for ages 12+ taught by 7th Dan Kyoshi David Berndt. Classes follow George Mattson's Uechi Ryu system with emphasis on practical self-defense techniques and traditional forms.
Weapons Training
Specialized instruction in traditional Aikido weapons including wooden sword (bokken) and staff (jo). Classes focus on developing precision, timing, and understanding of movement principles. Requires instructor permission for participants under 15.
Summer Camps

6th degree blackbelt certified by Hombu Dojo Tokyo and USAF Shidoin. Practicing Aikido since 1988, with teaching experience in Morocco, New York, and Florida. Regular attendee of international seminars in Japan and USA.
Rain Sadkane
Director
4th degree blackbelt USAF Fukushidoin with Master of Fine Arts in Dance. Combines martial arts and dance education, teaching Aikido to teens and adults while directing youth programs.
Mike Grover
Instructor
6th degree blackbelt certified by Hombu Dojo and USAF Shidoin. Practicing since 1991 with expertise in both Aikido and Korean martial arts. Regular participant in technical development seminars.

What martial arts do you teach?
We offer traditional Aikido and Uechi Ryu Karate instruction for all ages and experience levels.
What age groups do you accept?
Aikido classes are available for children aged 5-11 and adults 12+. Karate classes start at age 12.
Do you offer trial classes?
Yes, we provide free trial classes for both adult and children's programs to experience our training environment.
Are there contract requirements?
No contracts are required. Our monthly programs operate on a flexible, month-to-month basis.
What should I wear for my first class?
Beginners can wear comfortable workout clothing. We provide traditional uniforms for purchase if needed.
Do you participate in competitions?
Our focus is on traditional training and personal development rather than competitive tournaments.

Sensei Yousef and Rain are not just Aikido instructors selling a program. They are warm hearted welcoming people who guide us through Aikido techniques with patience and a gentle attitude; and genuinely share our joy when we "get it."

Simply amazing! I was shopping around for martial arts for my 12 year old to learn self defense. We went to several different providers and hands down Aikido of Seminole County was the most welcoming, hospitable, knowledgeable, and clean martial arts facility that we had stepped into. They even let us get our free class right there on the spot. My daughter actually learned something useful on her free class. We signed my daughter up the following week.

Very nice friendly and professional. I do Recommend it 100%. My 8 years old and my 12 years old loved it. At first they didn't want to even talk about it but Ms Rain made the experience so positive, and fun. She and kept them engaged. She is not too serious all the time she is fun and very friendly. I am thinking now to register because I liked what I saw very much. It feels like a family. EVeryone is encouraged and welcomed.

This Aikido dojo has not closed, but is operating as an amazing school to learn this ancient art. The studio owners, Sensei Rain and Senei Youssef Sadkane are highly skilled, excellent teachers. The students in this dojo reflect the passion and caring of the owners. Many students have studied and gained the knowledge and competence to practice Aikido, attending workshops throughout Florida, Georgia, and Japan. This is, by far, the best Aikido dojo in Central Florida.
