We are here to provide the highest quality foot and ankle services available and offer outpatient and inpatient evaluation and surgery. Our mission is to create an environment in which each patient is assessed, educated, and treated in such a way that they understand the nature of their foot and ankle problem and partner with us on their treatment plan.

Our two-physician practice has an excellent support staff, and we see patients of all ages for diverse problems, some of which are uncommon to "historic" podiatric practices. Our doctors are board certified in foot and ankle/reconstructive and rear foot/ankle surgery, and take Emergency Department calls through the Inova Health System.

With a conservative approach centered on patient education and understanding, I treat each patient with compassion and respect. I work diligently to establish a comprehensive diagnosis and provide a patient-specific treatment plan, taking into account the patient's individual goals, expectations, and lifestyle.

Dr. Pontell and his wife, Ellyn, live in Northern Virginia, are the proud parents of two adult sons and enjoy active, outdoor activities including road cycling and skiing. Dr. Pontell is the founding partner of Dominion Foot and Ankle Consultants in Fairfax, Virginia, whose mission is to provide outstanding, personalized foot and ankle care to every individual it serves.

To make sure there are no delays in care during your first visit experience, please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to ensure your registration is complete before meeting with your new provider. In an effort to respect the time of all of patients, our staff strives to stay on schedule so that other patients do not have to wait.
Insurance and Fees

Note: You should always check with your Privia Medical Group provider to verify plan and product coverage as this is not an exhaustive list, and plans change frequently. We encourage patients to keep a credit card on file to make the checkout process easier, faster, and more efficient.

You will no longer receive statements from us, but you will continue to receive your Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from your insurance carrier once your claim has been processed, detailing the charges and payments made on your behalf.
