Conejo Valley Tutoring offers highly effective one-on-one academic tutoring in the convenience of the student's home, focusing on scholastic improvement and building confidence. Our tutoring program is comprised of highly qualified tutors. We pride ourselves in thinking outside the box and working with our students' strengths while identifying their weaknesses to further their understanding of the subject matter.
Our population consists primarily of K to 12th grade students. In addition, we also work with numerous college-level students. Typical sessions are 1 hour long and take place in the student's home. We recommend 1 hour per week, per subject. This is encouraged to be increased during finals. Sessions are permitted to be extended when necessary as long as both parties consent and payment is made at the end of the session.

Pre-Algebra and Algebra I
Report
Pre-Algebra and Algebra I contain combinations of cumulative steps throughout each course. Looking at the whole can be overwhelming. That is why we address the parts that were not completely grasped along the way. Within one or two sessions, our algebra tutors can identify the problem areas, reteach them in an understandable manner, and apply them to the current chapter.
Algebra II
Report
Algebra II can be a difficult subject, especially for those who are not as mathematically minded. Algebra II builds on the advanced skills acquired in Algebra I and is needed in the preparation for college-bound students pursuing a variety of disciplines. In Algebra II, more advanced functions are introduced.
Calculus
Report
Calculus can be incredibly frustrating for even the brightest of students because it requires a lot of memorization of theorems and steps, many of which seem to have no reason behind such lengthy mathematical procedures. Many of our tutors have been working with calculus for years and some have applied it to work and/or real-world situations.
Geometry
Report
Geometry is a different type of math. It does involve computations and numbers, but it really consists of shapes and figures. Surprisingly, this is one of the most applicable of the math subjects taken in high school. Knowing these applications, our geometry tutors are able to provide fun and dynamic methods to learning what is often perceived as a difficult and confusing subject.
Math Analysis/Trigonometry
Report
Math Analysis and Trigonometry are challenging for three reasons. First, there is a lot of new material to cover in a short amount of time. Second, the subject relies upon knowledge gained in all prior years of math including Algebra I and II and Geometry. Third, the material is in a new mathematical language, the radian.
