St. Andrews was the dream of Frank Hough, father in-law of Joe Jemsek. In 1925, Hough announced the construction of a high-quality 36-hole country club in West Chicago. Hough dreamed of building a club to rival nearby Chicago Golf Club and reportedly hired the course's superintendent to help with the design and construction.
In 1926 the St. Andrews Course was completed and in 1929, the Lakewood Course was ready for play. During the late 1920's St. Andrews' reputation grew and the club prospered with the help of Hough, and his daughters, Alice and Grace who ran the business. By the early 1930's the Great Depression took hold on Chicago and many courses closed.

About Our Courses

The St. Andrews course, designed and built in 1926 by John McGregor of the Chicago Golf Club, will test your game without testing your patience. This course offers a flat terrain as well as large contoured greens and showcases a par 4 finishing hole with a menacing water hazard running along the fairway on the right side.

If you are unable to cancel your t-time through your online account, please call Golf Support 844-800-4653. RAIN CHECKS: If it is raining at your tee time, a raincheck will be issued.

The St. Andrews Practice Center has a fully stocked "hard goods" Pro Shop along with a Professional, custom club fitting program. Currently there are five teaching professionals for private lessons or you can take advantage of the very economical "No Embarrassment" Golf Schools for group lessons. It is recommended that you make appointments for both club fittings and lessons.

For our current JR rate policy, please call 630-231-3100 ext. The St. Andrews Jr. Golf Program is a series of 5 one-hour classes (putting, chipping, full swing, rules & etiquette) ending with special Jr. Golf Tournament OR skills challenge on the fifth date. Students who wear their hats to the Practice Center after completing the program will receive one complimentary small bucket per day, thru Sept.1st (Tuesdays before 12pm excluded).
