Wendy & Dave have lived in Seward since 2002, and spent many years owning / operating a local sea kayak shop. They live in a separate house on the property, and look forward to sharing their local knowledge - and the Seward experience - with you! We're open from mid-May through mid-September every year. The lodge can very comfortably accommodate 10 people, with 4 bedrooms, ample living space, a large kitchen and dining area, and a spacious deck and hot tub!

We've lived in Seward since 2002, and absolutely love the area and the people! We owned and operated Kayak Adventures Worldwide through the 2014 summer season, and during those years Bear Paw Lodge was run as a B & B. It was a great lodging option for our clients, and others traveling to the area. Now that we've transitioned away from running Kayak Adventures, we've turned our log home into a vacation rental.

The lodge has a fantastic layout for groups, whether you're traveling with family, friends, or a guided group of people you just met. There are plenty of places to find your own space, and also large areas that are great for congregating. The central part of the main level includes the large kitchen / dining room, a full bathroom, and the living room with picture windows and a gas fireplace.

Our lodge is located in a wooded subdivision approximately 4.5 miles from the town of Seward. Close enough to town for an easy evening out, but far enough away to escape the noise and action of summer tourism. Having lived in Seward and been involved in the active community here since 2002, we have lots of local insights to share.
