Meritrust was originally chartered in December of 1935 when employees from the Stearman Aircraft Company in Wichita collaborated and organized an employees credit union. In 1941, Boeing Aircraft Company bought Stearman Aircraft and in the process, our name was changed to Wichita Boeing Employees Credit Union to reflect the new company.
For many decades, we took pride in serving the local community and meeting the financial needs of the employees of the Boeing Aircraft Company and their families. In 1994, our Board of Directors made the decision to change our charter to allow us to serve everyone within our communities, in addition to Boeing Aircraft Company employees.
