Services
Plantar Fasciitis Treatment
Plantar fasciitis causes heel pain due to inflammation of the foot's connective tissue. Our practice offers targeted treatments like stretching exercises, custom orthotics, and laser therapy to reduce inflammation and restore mobility. With a focus on nonsurgical interventions, we help patients alleviate chronic heel pain and prevent recurrence through personalized care plans.
Bunions Specialist
Bunions result from misaligned toe joints, causing pain and deformity. We provide conservative treatments such as orthotics, padding, and cortisone injections to relieve discomfort. For severe cases, our surgical options realign the joint and restore normal foot function, ensuring long-term relief and improved mobility through expert, tailored care.
Custom Orthotics
Custom orthotics are tailored shoe inserts that correct biomechanical issues and alleviate foot pain. Using 3D gait analysis, we design orthotics to address conditions like flat feet, arch pain, and heel spurs. These devices improve alignment, reduce pressure points, and enhance comfort during daily activities, offering a noninvasive solution for lasting foot health.
Toenail Fungus Treatment
Toenail fungus leads to discolored, thickened nails and potential infection. Our treatments include antifungal medications, topical solutions, and laser therapy to eliminate the infection. By addressing fungal growth at its source, we restore nail health and prevent recurrence, ensuring safe and effective care for improved foot aesthetics and function.
Ingrown Toenail Treatment
Ingrown toenails occur when nail edges grow into the skin, causing pain and infection. We offer minor surgical procedures, antibiotics, and conservative care to remove ingrown portions and prevent complications. Our approach prioritizes pain relief and proper nail regrowth, ensuring swift recovery and reduced risk of future issues through expert intervention.

When should I see a podiatrist for foot pain?
Seek podiatric care for persistent pain, swelling, numbness, or difficulty walking. Conditions like plantar fasciitis, bunions, or infections require professional evaluation to prevent complications and restore mobility through targeted treatment plans.
What are custom orthotics, and how do they help?
Custom orthotics are tailored shoe inserts that correct biomechanical issues, alleviate pain from conditions like flat feet or arch pain, and improve foot function. They provide personalized support, enhancing comfort during daily activities and preventing further podiatric problems.
How are common foot problems like bunions treated?
Bunions are treated with conservative options like orthotics, padding, and cortisone injections. Severe cases may require surgical correction to realign the joint, relieve pain, and restore normal foot structure and mobility for long-term relief.
What toenail fungus treatments are available?
Treatment options include antifungal medications, topical solutions, and laser therapy to eliminate infections. Our approach targets the root cause, restoring nail health and preventing recurrence while ensuring safe, effective care for improved foot aesthetics.
How can I prevent foot problems at home?
Wear properly fitted shoes with arch support, practice good foot hygiene, perform stretching exercises, and maintain a healthy weight. Regular check-ups with our podiatrists help identify and address potential issues early, preventing complications and promoting long-term foot health.

Dr. Wasserman was able to diagnose a very sore foot problem for me. She also introduced a new (to me) orthotic which has made an enormous
difference to my overall foot comfort. I am very happy that I made that appointment with her. Martha Moss

Ive followed Dr. Wasserman from her previous location to her current Preston/Forest location. She is caring, compassionate person whom Ive also brought my teenage son to her to treat. Dr. Wasserman is also one of the most honest podiatrists Ive seen. She is not always recommending unnecessary procedures or surgeries to solve issues like other podiatrists Ive seen.

I saw Dr. Wasserman a while ago. She was friendly and really wanted to help my toes feel better. The only reason I haven't been back is because she did help my toes feel better and I haven't needed additional treatment.

I have been a patient of Karen Wasserman's for quite a few years now. Dr. Wasserman just happens to be my wife. This review is done without bias as best I am able. She is responsible for my being able to walk properly after many surgeries on my spine. Each spinal surgery caused changes in my gait requiring multiple changes in custom orthotics. Ultimately, I ended up with a customized brace to help drop foot. Most podiatrists and orthopedists are surgical minded. They only offer a shot of cortisone or an operation. Dr. Wasserman looks for nonsurgical long-term solutions. She will of course recommend

Dr. Wasserman prescribed shoe inserts, which I paid for at the time of service. Later, she sent a bill for almost double the cost of the inserts that she quoted, saying that it actually would not be covered by insurance, which I should have known at the time of purchase. This felt like a bait and switch move, and I never would have agreed to have the inserts made if she had told me the actual price up front, because it was nearly $1,000 for a lousy piece of 3-D printed plastic. She also called and harassed me for payment incessantly (I told her I was filing an appeal with insurance) shortly before
