We are located on the northeast coast of Florida, at the Flagler Executive Airport (KFIN) - 19 nautical miles north of Daytona Beach International Airport. Our location minutes away from uncrowded beaches and an easy drive from Disney World and other Orlando attractions, encourages many of our pilot students to make their seaplane training a family affair!

Seaplane Ratings
Report
A Commercial or Private Seaplane add on is a two day course. It covers takeoffs and landings, taxiing on the water, reading the wind, determining safe landing areas and seaplane abnormalities. The ATP seaplan rating course requires 3-4 days due to the extra instrument time. It is an exciting way to experience what the early aviation pioneers went through when landing in fields never before landed on.
Private Airplane Single Engine Sea ASES

Congratulations, you have taken the first steps towards some of the most exhilarating flying you will ever experience, seaplane flying. The private seaplane rating can be completed in just two days in our Husky Amphibian or our DeHavilland Beaver. The course includes five hours of flight time - four hours of dual flight and the one hour checkride.
Commercial Airplane Single Engine Sea ASES

Our Commercial ASES Ratings course is basically the same as our Private ASES Ratings course, and can either be completed in our Husky Amphibian or our DeHavilland Beaver Amphibian. This rating is an add on to your existing Commercial certificate. If you are a Certified Flight Instructor, the seaplane rating also makes you a seaplane CFI.
Combined Seaplane Ratings ASES & ASEL

At Ryan Aviation Seaplanes, we offer the unique opportunity of combining two ratings with only one checkride. Many of our student pilots already have their private ASEL rating, so we create a custom curriculum which allows them to obtain their Commercial and Seaplane ratings at the same time. The Husky is an Amphibious aircraft, allowing Land and Sea ratings to be combined into one training course and one checkride.

Amphib's offer the best of all worlds - the Husky has a very impressive short field takeoff and landing performance for backcountry flying, and this translates well to seaplane takeoffs and landings. Also, the Husky's very modern Garmin avionics allow the pilot to shoot instrument approaches when the weather has deteriorated.
