Everitt Clark and Kathleen Alvania are a husband-and-wife tutoring team based in Northern Virginia. Ev has worked as a private tutor since 2004, preparing students for the SAT, the ACT, and various other tests and academic subjects. Kathleen has prepared students for the SAT and the ACT since 2013.

Our students range from middle schoolers tussling with pre-algebra to seniors polishing up their college applications. Kathleen and Ev offer one-on-one and small group tutoring for standardized tests and various academic subjects to students in Northern Virginia. We work with our clients to develop a personalized study plan for every student. Although each pupil presents a unique case, there are certain basic practices we follow for all.

If you take a stroll down the "Test Preparation" aisle of your local bookstore, you'll see several dozen books about how to prepare for the SAT and almost as many about the ACT. Search for an accurate guide to the differences between the two tests, though, and your options are extremely limited.

The major test prep companies don't have a strong incentive to enlighten you, since they would prefer that you learn the hard way, by taking expensive courses for the SAT or ACT (or even better, both).Consequently, many students start from square one when the time comes to decide which exam to take.
