A welcome sight at the end of road to Dyea and the start of the Chilkoot Trail. Our cabin was comfortable and cozy and came with chocolate! The lodge has a friendly atmosphere and offers a gourmet grill-it-yourself salmon/halibut dinner. Not to mention the S'Mores. Book in advance, we stayed in June and the Outpost was full!

The natural beauty of the property offers hiking trails, picnic grounds, natural springs and a waterfall. After a day of hiking, bicycling or sightseeing, enjoy a quiet relaxing evening around an onsite open campfire pit with an adjacent gazebo equipped with a commercial BBQ, dining area, and hot and cold running water.

The Chilkoot Trail Outpost offers CLEAN extraordinary and comfortable hand-crafted cabins. The "Outpost" consists of eight individual cabins that will accommodate guests in ten private quarters. All cabins are equipped with microwave, refrigerator and coffeemaker. A hearty breakfast buffet in the main lodge is included with your stay.
Your Hosts

Your hosts are long time locals to Alaska's southeast region. Born and raised in Skagway, Fred grew up at his father's sawmill on the Chilkoot Trail. His wife, Kathy and her family came up to Alaska on a fishing boat in the 60's and have lived there ever since. Their children, Desi and Eric, are Alaska born and raised and are also active in the operation of the Chilkoot Trail Outpost.
