Ayusa International is a non-profit high school exchange organization dedicated to developing the next generation of global leaders and world citizens. By connecting extraordinary international students with host families in the U.S., we cultivate leadership skills, develop intercultural awareness and enhance global knowledge not only through education, but through experience.

For more than 30 years, Ayusa has been connecting families around the world through student exchange. High School Exchange is a program of the US Department of State that allows high school students from other countries to come to the US and spend one year attending high school.

Ayusa (Academic Year in the U.S.A.) International founded as a non-profit in San Francisco. Offices are located in the "Icehouse, " a renovated warehouse near the Embarcadero in San Francisco. Ayusa begins offering J-1 visa program as a U.S. designated Exchange Visitor Program sponsor. Ayusa becomes a founding member of the Council on Standards for International Educational Travel (CSIET).

Our German exchange program gives you the opportunity to live the everyday life of a European student in high school. During your time abroad, you will experience another way of life, learn another language, and meet many new people. Are you ready for the experience of a lifetime? Live with a German host family: German host families have a wide range of ethnic and religious backgrounds as well as varied family structures.
