Stevens Well Company in 1994. His son, Joe Stevens, assumed company operations upon Tom's retirement in 2015.

Stevens Well Company researches ground geology near the new water well drilling site. This helps determine the well type and well depth. If both screened and bedrock wells exist in the same area, the exact well type cannot be determined until the driller sees the actual ground geology.

According to the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), statute 4725 states that not-in-use wells must be made operable, sealed, or granted a variance before a property is sold. Not-in-use wells must be sealed by an MDH approved, licensed contractor. The contractor must document and file the well sealing record with MDH.
