Cataract Surgery
Report
Cataract surgery is usually done as an outpatient in a surgical center or hospital. The actual surgery only takes about 10 minutes, and the entire process typically takes just a few hours from start to finish. An IV is started to give you some medicine so you are sedated. Your ophthalmologist will make a very small incision (which usually requires no stitches to close) in the eye and remove the cataract.
