In 1963, Sy Derin started SY DERIN COMPANY INC. because many glass shops required parts. He would drive around providing Mobile Glass Parts and Tool Supply services in his van to various local businesses. In time, he found that he did not have enough storage for all the products, so he moved into a store at 13425 Beach Ave. in Marina Del Rey, CA.
Along the way, Sy Derin sold the business to the Carnewal's in 1991, which added new products to their catalogue, such as Glass Supply, Railing Systems, Wardrobes & Room Dividers, Shower Enclosures & Frameless Shower Doors. In 1993, the Carnewal's had such a large inventory that they needed a warehouse, so they built and moved to their current location at 4576 Huntington Dr N. Los Angeles, CA 90032.
