Cars are towed for many different reasons. Below you will find the most common reasons, along with their corresponding vehicle codes. THE DRIVER IS UNLICENSED or HAS A SUSPENDED LICENSE: Vehicles cannot be driven by any unlicensed driver or those who commit a license violation. Vehicles can be towed even if the driver is not the vehicle owner or if there is a licensed passenger in the car.

If your vehicle was not towed for either of the above two reasons then no release is required, however you must bring ID, current registration, and proof of insurance to our facility at 20621 Earl St., Torrance. If your vehicle was towed by the El Camino Police Department because of any vehicle code violation you must go to the El Camino Police Department, Front Desk (310) 660-3100 (www.elcamino.cc.ca.us/police) and secure a vehicle release.
