Upon its opening, Blackthorn was ranked the No. 4 best new public golf course by Golf Digest. While no longer a municipal course as of 2015, it was given the prestigious title of the No. 1 municipal course in Indiana and No. 44 in the country by Golf Week Magazine in 2013. Blackthorn was ranked a 5-star course by Chicagoland Golf, and it is among the top 100 women-friendly courses in the country.

Blackthorn Golf Club, a Dr. Michael Hurdzan design, opened to rave reviews in August of 1994. The Irish-Cottage style clubhouse sets upon a rolling naturally contoured heavily wooded 226-acre site. The par 72, 7136-yard layout with four sets of tees offers a strategic test for golfers of all abilities.

At Blackthorn Golf Club we believe love of the game knows no age and that it actually begins very early. To promote and grow the game of golf, we're offering a great summer camp experience for students between the ages of 6 and 13. We offer a fun, positive group environment with team competitions and prizes all week long.

Be lawful, not aweful! Randy matches up your current swing with the correct components using geometry, physics, and biomechanics. Remember, that the fewer moving parts the better off you are. Club face position and impact are the two pillars of golf. Golf is just another sidearm sport like baseball, softball, tennis, and hockey.
