Albatross Fleet
The Albatross Fleet was born in 1937 and was North Carolina's first charter fishing business. The magnificent Gulf Stream is only 20 miles offshore. At Diamond Shoals, it collides with the Labrador Current creating a unique environment supporting a vast diversity of big game fish. Nowhere, but here in Pamlico Sound, can one feel closer to nature than watching a setting sun from the stern of the floating legend named Albatross.

Or try our new Ocracoke fishing trip!

Our Crews
Report
Like all of our Captains, Michael is a Cape Hatteras High School graduate who started working on the water shortly there after - mostly Commercial fishing, but also Sport fishing and Dredge boating. When he was in his late twenties, he founded and ran a boat building and repair business. During this time, he built 47 wooden boats (up to 39 feet) and repaired many more, including major repairs on and renovations to the Albatross Fleet.

What We Catch
Report
Hatteras has the geographical good fortune to be located closer to the Gulf Stream than any point in the US north of Stuart, Florida. Cape Hatteras also marks the area where the last of the waters of the cool Labrador Current collides with the warm waters of the Gulf Stream as it begins its eastward turn toward Europe.
