Health Checklist
Report
Puppies and dogs are a lot of work. They also come with a large shopping list. Below is a checklist of some of the necessary items that you'll need for your furry friend. Leash recommended 4-6 foot. Offered in various types such as retractable and nylon. It's also not a bad idea to have a spare leash to keep in the car or in case you lose one.
Heartworm Disease
Report
Heartworm disease is commonly found in dogs and is caused by the mosquito. The adult heartworm typically lives in the heart along with other major arteries of the lungs. The cycle starts with the infected mosquito biting another dog. That dog then is infected with the heartworms and the larva is left in his tissue to develop.
House Training
Report
Realize that puppies have to go to the bathroom a lot more. Younger dogs and puppies have a smaller bladder and don't have the ability to control it as well yet. The more they drink, the more they are going to have to go. Please, expect the unexpected when it comes to your puppy and potty training.
Kenneling Your Dog
Report
The primary use for the kennel is to housetrain dogs. Dogs don't like to soil their kennels, therefore this would be a great tactic when trying to potty train. When you purchase your kennel, buy one that allows your dog to stand up and stretch, turn around and potentially store a bowl of water and food in.
