We are in the historic "Old Feed Store" - just look for the tall metal grain tower along the Arkansas River. We have everything you need, from local trail suggestions and maps, new bikes & specific demo program bikes, service, to a full selection of parts and accessories.
Some of the best mountain biking in the state is right out the door on the Monarch Crest Trail, the Colorado Trail, the Rainbow Trail, not to mention the extensive Arkansas Hills (S-mtn) & Methodist trail systems that are rideable nearly all year and out our back door. Absolute Bikes is located on the Arkansas river in downtown Salida, in the "Old Feed Store" built in 1903 - just look for the grey metal grain tower. We share our building with Little Cambodia Restaurant so we've got all the essential pre and post ride necessities parking, and bathrooms. We are open 7 days a week year-round.
Rentals

Due to the unprecedented demand and shortage of bikes, we are NOT doing any rentals for 2021. Everything was great about your shop. The staff was knowledgeable, taught me a bit about bike maintenance when I needed a second tube replacement and gave us great information on local riding. Really can't say enough about your shop.
Trail Recommendations

Check out our favorite trail recommendations! Salida has over 40 miles of trails accessible from town, plus many miles of high alpine riding. The Arkansas Hills and Methodist Mountain systems are our local ride-from-town trails and are rideable almost year-round. In the summer, the Monarch Crest, Rainbow Trail and the Colorado Trail offer awesome single track with unbeatable views and cooler temperatures.
Camping Suggestions

Angel of Shavano Campground- 2WD. 20 wooded campsites with capacity for family or group camping. To get to Angel of Shavano, head west on US 50 out of Poncha Springs for 6 miles until you reach County Road 240; turn right onto CR 240 and drive 3 miles to reach the campground. The campground is situated on the North Fork Road and is approximately 15 miles from Salida.

3.3 Mileage Rates and Fares for Call and Demand Shuttle Service-Mileage rates will apply only in instances where no specific point to point call and demand shuttle rates are published in section 3.2 of this tariff for the services being provided. From Absolute Bikes Sallida, CO to all points within a 35 mile radius of the intersection of F St. and Sackett Ave.
