Matt created the appropriately named M. Carlson Painting in 2001, out of a desire to provide outstanding customer service and build a company that people would be proud to be a part of. A native of Minnetonka and graduate of Hopkins High (go Lions!), he started his career in 1994, painting residential exteriors on Lake Minnetonka and the surrounding areas.
When he's not running the area's most trustworthy residential painting company, Matt loves spending as much time as possible with his kids, daughter Skylar, and son Tryg. 13-year-old Skylar is a creative dynamo and keeps Matt busy with her competitive dancing. Meanwhile, 11-year-old multi-sport superstar Tryg is active in football, soccer, and basketball.

I first hired Matt for a job to re-paint the entire interior of my home about years ago when I was doing a significant remodel. Matt not only did a fantastic job on the painting, but gave me some very valuable advice about the remodel generally. I then hired him again a few years later to do the exterior.

Carlson Painting is wonderful! This company is easy to work with and flexible when it comes to scheduling. In order not to interrupt our patient care, they made arrangements to work in our space during the weekend! Are you insured? Yes, M. Carlson Painting carries a 2 million dollar general liability, workmen's compensation for all employees. One million dollar commercial auto coverage. Severe peeling prior to work. Note: warranty does not apply to previously applied paint on surface that may loosen later. We will however, do all possible to prevent this.
