Why a Pediatric Dentist
Report
The foundation of a lifetime of good oral health can be fostered in a patient's relationship with a childhood dentist. Positive early experiences will reinforce a child's perception of the dentist as an ally rather than an enemy and reduce dental anxiety. Additionally, a child may be more likely to be compliant with a home oral hygiene routine when there is a trusted relationship with dental professionals.
First Visit
Report
We like to see children around their first birthday or when their first tooth erupts, as recommended by the American Dental Association. That's an excellent time to check the development of teeth, examine the oral cavity and check their bite. At this appointment, we discuss feeding habits, oral habits (pacifiers and thumb sucking), oral hygiene and other information to start your baby toward positive dental care.
