In 2008, I taught myself how to use a dslr with the intention of becoming a wedding and family photographer. It wasn't until after my first son was born in 2010, however, that I began to realize the value of what I was doing for my own family, and consequently for my clients.
Over the last 10+ years of being a photographer, my family has been the biggest source of inspiration and accountability for me to not only grow my skill, but to see the inherent value of photography as a time capsule.Photographs hold stories. Chrissy is a rockstar! She was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process. We started out pretty nervous in front of the camera during our engagement pictures, but she quickly made us feel comfortable and at ease during both our engagement and wedding pictures.
She is an amazing professional who with quick thinking and some flexibility offered to drive us to our photo location before our wedding when our party bus was running an hour late to our pick up location.Choosing a photographer was probably the hardest decision for me during the entire wedding planning process.

During the workshop, one of the workshop hosts shared that while he was on his journey into photojournalism, he decided to ask his past clients to choose one image from their wedding that they felt represented their memory of the day. Did the "creatively posed" images or the Pinterest recreations make the list?

I'm gonna let you in on a little secret: I don't believe your wedding day is about the photos. Sounds a little weird coming from a wedding photographer, doesn't it? Your wedding day is one of the most important, memorable days of your life. Promises will be made and beloved people will be present. How will you spend that one, important, unrepeatable day?

I've seen firsthand how fast kids grow and how easy it is to take for granted their quick transitions from one stage to the next. But when I look at pictures of my three kids, the memories attached to the images are so vivid that I'm thrown into a world of sentiment and nostalgia. At family sessions, my goal is to capture those little qualities of your family that are overlooked in the day-to-day.
