Services
Fun Golf
Report
At all Sterling Golf Courses, we believe in uniformity of our course setups. Golf is a hard game, therefore we set up all courses to make your rounds enjoyable, good scoring and FUN. Bunkers - if you don't hit it out after your 2nd try, just pick it up & throw it onto the green.

Bring some extra balls - if you hit it into the woods, don't delay the game and waste time hunting, take a quick look, then drop another ball, after all isn't this supposed to be fun.We cut collection areas around all our greens. The length of the grass is equal to the frinch length, which allows the golfer to putt instead of chip?
Course Conditioning
Report
All of Sterling Golf's Superintendents and Assistants belong to the National and New England Golf Course Superintendents Association and continue their education by enrolling in seminars to keep up to date with new developments in the industry. Environmental awareness is uppermost in our procedures and each of our course superintendents knows the proper application and the right allocation to avoid any damage to the surrounding environment.
Pond Management
Report
Golf Course Superintendents are considered to be the managers of the grass you play on when you are out on the golf course. As this is the truth, their responsibilities run much farther and wider than most people tend to consider. Superintendents are responsible for everything on a golf course from the grass, to the fence that marks the property line, to the tee towels and trash receptacles.
Tree Removal
Report
Trees are wonderful to look at during a round of golf. They provide shade on hot days. They help to clean the air of pollutants. But, when it comes to healthy turfgrass for greens, tees and fairways, it is best that they are not there at all. Some of the basic ingredients for healthy turfgrass are sunlight, water, and air movement.
Mowing Patterns
Report
Does a golf course ever look better than immediately after mowing, when the turf has been "striped"? Have you ever wondered how or why this happens? All golf course superintendents alternate mowing patterns in their regular schedule. The most obvious result of this practice is the aesthetic enhancement of the turf.
