In 1985, a caribou shed was discovered 100 feet behind the Main Guest House of Caribou Bay Retreat. It is believed to be 12,500 years BP (before the present) of age. The horn is one of the best preserved sheds discovered in Wisconsin and sits prominently in a glass case in the retreat's Great Room.
