Empowering Children's Mental Health Through Education and Support
At the Minnesota Association for Children's Mental Health (MACMH), we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive emotionally, socially, and mentally from infancy through young adulthood. Founded in 1989, MACMH is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to promote and pursue optimal mental health from infancy to young adulthood. We provide education, resources, and support to professionals, caregivers, families, and youth across Minnesota and beyond. Our work is anchored in helping families navigate the journey of raising a child with mental health challenges through free resources, educational opportunities, and family coaching services. We recognize the critical role of a skilled, ethical, culturally-responsive workforce in building systems that promote children's mental health, and we equip professionals with knowledge and tools to enhance statewide capacity. Our Infant & Early Childhood Division builds a multidisciplinary workforce to address the unique needs of children prenatal to age six. We amplify youth voices through programming that promotes mental wellness and leadership. Our professional development opportunities include the annual Child & Adolescent Mental Health Conference, one of the largest in the country, and regular training webinars. We collaborate with academic institutions and community partners to develop culturally specific programs like the Somali and LatinX 40-Day Project. Our advocacy efforts include supporting families during Individual Education Planning and providing direct representation at meetings and hearings.
