La Parilla is proud to offer the many classic Mexican food choices like tacos, burritos, chimichangas and tostadas. But we also offer a wide variety of specialty items like fish tacos, Mexican tacos and fried ice cream. Plus we have a great kid's menu for the little ones. And for those looking for some healthy dining items, we offer grilled tilapia, light tacos and many other easy-on-the-diet items.

We went there on a weekday when the weather was in the upper 60's. We asked to sit on the patio and was told it was closed, so we went somewhere with an open patio.

I absolutely love this place. The steak is so juicy and tasty. The service was amazing. The cocktails are delicious(You can actually taste the alcohol). The only thing I wish was different is that I wish the add shrimp as another protein especially for Fajitas

Ordered takeout and was very unimpressed. Will not try again. Chips that came with the salsa were inedible (completely stale). My order was also supposed to include tortillas which were completely left out. Ended up eating just pieces of grilled chicken with spices that I could of prepared at home for 4$.

We came with a large group for a birthday lunch. We were sat quickly and our waitress was prompt with serving us chips and salsa and took our drink order immediately after. Our food came out quickly and it was hot. The portions were generous and the meal was well seasoned. The guacamole was the most unique to me. It was chunky and the freshness of the vegetables was apparent. Our birthday girl was even served with a shareable size portion of fried ice cream.

We had an enjoyable evening there. The food and the service were good. The waiter was attentive and pleasant. However, my biggest complaint is, the wait staff were not wearing masks. We were a party of 9 and 2 waiters were distributing our meals. Inorder to accomplish this, they were talking over our food, which of course released, I'm certain, some spitting. COVID-19 is STILL alive and real. Masks should be worn by all servers for the safety of your guests.

The enchiladas are amazing! They have authentic tasting red chili sauce. It was so good. The lunch menu is very affordable. The sweet tea is delicious. I loved the decor and our food was extremely fast. I will be returning here and recommending it to everyone I know.

Food is always spectacular, service is always good. Never had a dish I didn't like. In our dozen times eating there, have never had to wait more than 10 minutes for our food. Wait times typically aren't as long as they say--worth the wait!

The cheese dip was okay. I ordered the Texas fajitas with double rice. The meat was really good. They gave me so much rice which was nice but the rice didn't have much flavor. My friend ordered the fajita burrito and that was also really good. Service was also good

The Chile Rellenos, Enchiladas and Mexican Tacos are great, coming from Santa Rosa, Calif. and having some of the best taco trucks and Mexican food in the nation.. these hombres are very good for Athens. Food was ready and hot when picked up. Reasonably priced. Don't forget the Burrito Fajitas...filling and satisfying.

I came for Cinco De Mayo and got food poisoning. I hadn't dined out for over a week before I came here. I had dinner and margaritas, and the food tasted great, the ambience was wonderful, our waitress was amazing, the hosts were accommodating. However, that night I was starting to feel very sick. It has been 4 days, and I still feel awful. I cannot even walk, and I feel very weak. I will need to go to urgent care. As much as I had a fun time, I will never come back here again!

My friends and I go here very often. Very comforting environment. The service is always great. I would suggest their chicken fajita soup and fish or shrimp tacos, my favorites. Good for drinks as well, they get the job done!

Came here on a Friday night with a small group and were seated pretty quickly. The restaurant was busy and the server was very attentive and friendly. The picante sauce was flavorful and the queso dip had great texture and flavor. I ordered the shrimp fajita quesadilla which came out hot. It's a bit hidden inside office buildings, but there was ample parking in the back when I went to pick up my GrubHub order. I had to go in and check on my order because it was taking longer than expected, but they got it out to me quickly.

I ordered three tacos ($2.50 each), one torta especiale, and a cup of tortilla soup. The tacos were a bit bland to me, but the torta was to DIE FOR. Cheesy, meaty, eggy.... If you sceptical about hot dogs on a sandwich, don't be! It was the best torta I think I've ever had. A bit greasy but worth it! And the tortilla soup was decent too-- great

This place was awesome! We were in town visiting for work and were able to get their margaritas that were the special on a Monday, and they were GOOD.

I tried the Pollo al Chipotle and it was insanely good, my co-worker got the carnitas - ask for some hot sauce because they make it in house and it has some definite kick!

The food is nothing to write about! The Star of this restaurant are the CHURROS!!! They are fried until they are golden brown but light. The churros are filled with a creamy light filling. They are rolled in sugar and cinnamon and OMG!!! You don't need the chocolate sauce they bring just the CHURRO! They are just DAMN GOOD!!!

First time here & it's a new favorite!! possibly my favorite Mexican restaurant in Athens. got seated immediately on a Sunday night even though they were pretty packed! service was super quick which was great. we got the queso & chunky guacamole to start. chips were warm & not greasy :) both dips were delicious, i would recommend the chunky guacamole over the regular. the food came out probably about 10 minutes after we ordered! for entree i got the fajita quesadilla with chicken & steak; it had grilled onions, peppers, tomatoes, & the gooey-ist cheese. the tortilla was

Our go to Mexican place in Athens! They have ceviche... not shrimp but fish. The bowl is a good appetizer with just the right amount of spice and tangy lime flavor! Salsa is puréed and comes with fresh chips.
All of the tacos have fresh flavors. The chicken is always moist and goes well with the cheese they use. The pork has a bit more spice and the shrimp is grilled with the seasoning on it.
The refried beans are delightful! Packed with flavor and just enough salt to make you want more. Husband always gets the carne asada.. the steak is thin and tender.

I've been here 4 times and 3 of those times, I really enjoyed the food! However, the last time I went here, the food was completely bland. It was so hard to finish the food. I'm certain that it wasn't seasoned and was sitting there for a while. The Burrito Especial was a bland, soggy mess, which was disappointing since I had that at my first visit here and I loved it. It was so flavorful and a huge portion.

The chips and salsa here is pretty tasty. The salsa is really thin and basic, but good. The margaritas here are also awesome! I've gotten the house margarita and the Corona

I enjoy the service and food at La Parrilla. I recently got the spicy shrimp tacos, which were yummy, but were very spicy. My favorite thing to get is the shrimp quesadilla. Delicious. Definitely try the flan. Very creamy and sweet. There’s lots of parking, and it almost always seems busy, but there’s not too long of a wait for food.

A favorite of ours for dinner before we head to the movies in Athens. Staff are super friendly and attentive and the food is always good. Nice portion sizes that leave our bellies full and hunger satisfied.
The Ceviche is so good and my favorite appetizer. The Carne Asada is packed with so much flavor as it the chipotle flavored Steak La Mexicana. I'm hard pressed to choose between these two as a favorite entree.
Rest assured you can't go wrong with a visit to Taqueria La Parrilla for a good meal !

Just go to Cali N Tito's instead.
This place is decent. I'd consider it your average Mexican restaurant. Prices aren't too high and the food is okay. The enchilada sauce tasted as if it came from a can and the steak in the burrito carne asada was dry. Aside from that the servers are nice and the food isn't too horrible. If you're feeling a quick tasty sit down experience then I'd recommend this place.
