In 1946, Floyd and Mary West started West Brothers Transfer. The company began as a small package delivery firm that servicing Raleigh, NC. In 1954, Floyd and Mary started moving furniture locally and within the state of North Carolina. Shortly thereafter, they added distribution services for Kellogg's and Elbow Macaroni.
