Hawaii Driving Institute (HDI) is a Driver Education School on the Island of Oahu. Classes are available for both new teenage and adult drivers. All HDI Driver Education Instructors are certified by the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation. Teenage participants receive both mandatory 30 hours of classroom instruction as well as 6 hours of behind-the-wheel (BTW) instruction.
We offer adults behind-the-wheel only instruction. Students can now register online and instantly reserve a seat by making payment from a computer, tablet or smartphone. We are currently accepting only Venmo or Cash payments. If paying by cash, please text Ron Aoki at (808)306-9552 to arrange a meet up at the physical classroom at 99-165 Moanalua Rd, Ste 101.

The reason is that part of your session time is taken up by driving from the starting point to a predetermined location and back again.

If your teen cannot commit to a minimum of 10 time slots on a weekly basis, do not register. Go to classroom.google.com. Join class. Enter the code and click Join class code: hof5jmo. Your seat is not reserved until payment is made. Only Venmo or Cash payment in the amount of $515.71 is accepted. If paying by Venmo, please make Venmo payment to @Ronald-Aoki.
Adult Program

Teenagers under the age of 18 are required by state law to pass both a 30-hour classroom and a 6-hour behind-the-wheel (BTW) course. In addition to this, they must complete a minimum of 50 hours of practice driving. Compared to adults, is it no wonder that the passing rate for teens is very high! The costs for this program are $110/lesson (2 hours) +Tax or $520/10 hours of prepaid lessons +Tax with discount.
