Early Prevention

If you are looking for a children's orthodontist, the best time to bring your child in to see us for their first orthodontic evaluation is around age 7. At this stage, we may not recommend orthodontic treatment yet, but we can continue to monitor your child's development to recommend the right time to begin.
Adolescent Treatment

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a child first see an orthodontist by age 7 for early treatment and evaluation. However, most permanent teeth erupt by age 12. At this time, we can easily evaluate your teen's smile for crowding, gaps, and bite issues. Another reason the early teenage years are a good time for orthodontic treatment is because teens do not yet have many of the negative associations with braces.
