Ms. Jansen graduated from Hunter College of the City University of New York in 1991 with an undergraduate degree in Human Communications. Beginning in 1983 and while attending college as a night student, she worked full-time in the Law Department of the National Broadcasting Company in Manhattan.
In 1992, she received a Paralegal Certificate in Business Organizations from the New York University Adult Education Program and continued employment with NBC until 1995.During her last year of law school, Ms. Jansen worked at the Pace Women's Justice Center, first as a paralegal and then as a Staff Attorney.
