Chess Tutors
We are devoted to the development of life skills and student academic success. Our aim is to give students in the K-8th-grade confidence that they can learn the strategies and techniques of chess and apply them to every area of their lives. Students learn to take responsibility for every move they make in life as well as on the chessboard.

In the most practical terms, students learn concentration skills necessary to master any academic discipline. Memory, pattern recognition and decision-making - such skill sets are reinforced during our competitive chess sessions in an effort to strengthen our student's ability to think critically.

Who are we
Report
Founded in 2002, Chess Tutors, a diverse, talented cadre of dedicated tutors have collectively reached an estimated 100,000 elementary school students and by extension their parents with the game of life, chess.

Many parents, communities and school districts consider our Company "Chess Tutors" the "Head Start program of chess" because of our success in capturing the imagination, interest and enthusiasm of previously uninitiated children for this ancient game of Kings.
Our After School Program System
Report
Our after-school program is 24 weeks long. However, at most schools we break it up into three 8-week segments designed to immerse and fortify your child in the fundamentals of chess and ChessLife Strategies, the life skills component of our teachings. Our Phase I booklet is a practical instrument for chess study and exercise.

In effect, we are the ones who ensure that chess makes a good "first impression." While the overwhelming majority of chess programs may-to varying degrees-do a fine job of teaching the mechanics of the game, strategy, and overall board consciousness, we on the other hand are far more concerned with encouraging life masters than we are chess masters.
Learning = Earning

Right answers have value. Each correct answer is worth Chess Money (also referred to as Tutor Dollars). Through-out the school year, students will receive Tutor Dollars for checkmates, good sportsmanship and hard work. On the final session, students will also receive Chess Money for correct answers on their I'mpossible Curriculum Puzzle Booklet.
