Ezra Paul Clothing is a menswear brand based in Washington, DC. We make high quality, modern garments in the USA and Italy and use the finest fabrics from Italy and the UK. All of our jackets are constructed with a full, floating canvass made of horsehair - we never use fusibles. We employ a soft construction and very light Neapolitan shoulder, which combine to make a very comfortable and durable jacket.

Ezra Paul Lizio-Katzen has been working in men's clothing for the past 15 years and after working for Armani, Zegna, and Saks Fifth Avenue, among others, he decided to expand upon his knowledge of the industry and launched Ezra Paul Clothing in 2010. Ezra Paul Clothing was founded with the goal of bringing together high-end fabrication with updated silhouettes at a reasonable price - a combination rarely found in the USA.

It seems like the majority of men's clothing stores don't have any reference on their websites whatsoever as to where their clothing is made. Everything we sell is made in Italy (suits, sportcoats, trousers outerwear, ties) except shirts which are made in the USA. We are proud of this fact, and wish other brands would be more transparent.

Basting - Temporary stitching used to hold two or more layers together to ensure proper shaping. Mostly an aesthetic feature, though placing it too high or too low can affect the proportions of the jacket and it's silhouette. Canvas/Canvassing - Canvas is the material that floats in between the chest panel and lining of a jacket.

Construction - how a garment is put together - is an extraordinarily important aspect of its ultimate quality. If you follow the blog, you've most likely encountered a post or two where I've deconstructed a suit jacket to show how it's made. Unlike most other articles of clothing, the quality of a jacket is quite opaque.
