Turns out birds aren't the only ones migrating to South Padre Island in droves every winter. From November through February, thousands of retirees flock to South Padre Island from the north for some warm weather and an even warmer reception. I recently stayed at The Tiki for one night. I arrived on Saturday (afternoon) and checked out on Sunday morning. I went with 4 other people and we reserved a 1-bedroom, with 2 double beds and a sofa bed. We really enjoyed it alot. Especially because it is right on the beach. It doesn't matter what unit you stay in, you will have great access to the beach.
