Chiropractic Adjustment
Report
At Complete Chiropractic & Rehabilitation, we use a variety of different techniques to accommodate each individual's needs and comfort. The chiropractic adjustment is used to ensure proper alignment of the joints which promotes healthy function of the neuromusculoskeletal system. When spinal vertebrae are out of place, there is more tension on the soft tissue structures that attach to these bones.
Dry Needling
Report
Essentially, dry needling is a technique used to treat trigger points or "knots" within a muscle by disrupting areas of tightness, allowing for the muscle to function at its full capacity. No- it most certainly is not. Dry needling technique requires a physical examination, diagnosis, location of anatomic points based on a western understanding of anatomy, neurology, and physiology.
Soft Tissue Therapies
Report
Soft tissue is a collective term used to refer to ligaments, muscles, and tendons. These soft tissues attach the vertebrae (spinal bones) and help to control movement of the joints. Injury causes inflammation which typically results in pain and can create trigger points or fibrous adhesions. This fibrous adhesions can be thought of as glue that holds the soft tissues together.
Rehabilitation
Report
If you have been injured, damage has occurred to your soft tissue structures. Initially, you are in an "Intensive Care" phase of treatment, where the main goal is to decrease the inflammation, reduce pain, and increase range of motion. After this phase, you begin to feel better, but this is NOT the time to stop treatment.
