Born and raised in New York City, Dr. Elena L. Jones is a board certified dermatologist. She graduated from Wellesley College and Georgetown University School of Medicine. She trained in pediatrics (she is also a board certified pediatrician) at New York University Hospital/Bellevue Hospital and then, in dermatology at Albert Einstein School of Medicine.

Cysts are sacs that usually form around hair follicles. Some only require observation. Others, that are becoming tender and inflamed, may require an in-office surgical procedure. Earlobes can tear because of trauma or heavy earrings. We surgically repair earlobes in a quick in-office procedure performed under local anesthesia.
